for College Athletes
Limited Liability Companies - “LLC’s"
Our firm works with clients who want to start businesses by establishing Limited Liability Companies (“LLC’s”). The primary benefit of forming an LLC is the protection it provides against personal liability. If you are an athlete looking to put on a camp, or offer youth sports training, you should consider forming an LLC.
Many college athletes are starting businesses that are completely unrelated to their sports or their status as college athletes. These businesses should be formed properly for both tax and liability protection. Our firm works directly with athletes to help them fulfill their dreams of starting their own business.
We register our clients’ businesses with their state’s Secretary of State’s office by filing Articles of Organization and draft Operating Agreements for athletes who are managing businesses with other partners.
501(c)(3)
College athletes who want to start charities or educational groups should consider forming a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are tax-exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. If you are a college athlete considering starting a charity or educational group, contact our firm to discuss forming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
